PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for:

Baby Isaac as he undergoes surgery tomorrow, and for his quick recovery and return home.

Tom C.'s Father as he recovers from surgery.
Pat C. for safety as he serves on the front line in Afghanistan.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITYFrom Gail H.: We going to bake cookies at our house from 10 to 2 Saturday, July 10th for Pat C.'s unit. Pat is the reservist we know who is now on his 4th tour in harm's way! His wife and 3 elementary-age daughters will be here, as well as others from his church. We will have Sandwich Stuff to feed those who come with cookie ingredients, their own homemade cookies, or items suitable for a Care Package to Pat's unit in Afghanistan (even used fiction paperbacks are a great relief). If you don't like to bake, there will be packaging, labeling, card-writing, and general merry-making to do!

No reservations needed, just pop by if you get a chance. No worries if you want to come but can't. We'll do this again next month or so. Call the church office for directions.

Take care,

-Gail

FOR SUNDAY 7/11/2010Dear Parish Family,

We missed those of you who were unable to be with us last Sunday at Family Camp. It's safe to say that a great time was had be all. Look for information about next summer's camp to be forthcoming. You won't want to miss it!!

Sunday is the seventh Sunday after Pentecost. Our lessons include: Amos 7:7-17, Psalm 82, Colossians 1:1-14, and Luke 10:25-37. In Paul's introductory message in his Letter to the Colossians, he writes of praying for these dear people. This is not the only instance of Paul's prayers being recorded. Paul clearly understood that prayer works! We, who are mere mortals, who have sinned against our Father in heaven, can actually be assured that our prayers are heard, that they matter, that God answers them. This morning's "Thunderous Thought" is just that – God hears and answers our prayers. Prayer works.

My prayer for each of you is that you would "be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God." (from Col. ).

Sunday worship – our offering to our great God! Make it a habit!!

Blessings,

Becki+
