SRCA NEWS AND NOTES

SUNDAY WORSHIP

This coming Sunday we celebrate the eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost and the baptism of Abigail Mathers. Our Sermon series from Experiencing God  will continue with unit 10, "The Church."  Our readings will include Numbers 11:4-6, 10-16, 24-29, Psalm 19:7-14, James 5:13-20 and Mark 9:38-50 . 

BAPTISM
We will celebrate the sacrament of Holy Baptism on Sunday, as we baptize little Abigail Mathers. Please keep her and the whole Mathers family in your prayers as we approach the date.

PRAYERS FOR THE PARISH
Will meet on Tuesday at the Englehardts in Stone Ridge. We begin at 7:15 and conclude by 8:30. Prayer is our most important work. Please join us in praying for our church and our community. 

WOMEN's RETREAT: Gospel Gourmet
Our fall women's retreat is planned for the first weekend in October. The theme will be Gospel Gourmet! Please save the date! Sign up on the hospitality table, or by responding to this email.

MEN'S MEATING (misspelling intentional)

On Saturday, October 5th, the men of the parish are invited to the Neumann's for a cook out ("meeting"). Please let Don Holt or Bruce know if you plan to attend. Carpooling will be available.

SRCA NEWS AND NOTES

Dear Parish Family,

SATURDAY CAR WASR

This Saturday, September 22, we are holding a car wash at the Chantilly 7-11 from 9:00 until 12:30. Proceeds will be used to assist Haika and Ephata with fees associated with becoming U.S. citizens. Please come out to help, and bring towels for drying cars! Our children and youth are encouraged to come help their friends' family make raise funds to make this important step!

SUNDAY WORSHIP
This coming Sunday we celebrate the seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost. Our Sermon series from Experiencing God  will continue with unit 9, "Experiencing God Through Obedience."  Our readings will include Jeremiah 11:18-20, Psalm 54, James 3:13-4:3, 7-8a; and Mark 9:30-37.

ACOLYTES

Please meet with Meghan in front of the altar immediately following Sunday's worship to review a few basics. The meeting will last about 15 minutes.

This coming Sunday we celebrate the sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost. Our Sermon series from Experiencing God  will continue with unit 8, "Adjusting Your Life to God."  Our readings will include Isaiah 50:4-9, Psalm 116:1-8, James 3:1-12, and Mark 8:27-38. We will be honoring our acolytes, giving each their new cord color representing their years of service. We will also be admitting 4 new acolytes to the acolyte guild. All acolytes are encouraged to be in attendance!
