PENTECOST SUNDAY
is this Sunday. We will celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the spread of Christianity to the ends of the earth. It is customary to wear red for Pentecost, symbolizing the tongues of fire that rested on peoples' heads. PLEASE WEAR RED!
NEWS BREAK: VESTRY UPDATE
The vestry has agreed to move forward with a re-branding/relaunch for SRC. The relaunch event will happen in the fall in late September or early to mid October, specific date still TBD. We are still praying about possible names for our church. Names under consideration include: Christ Church at South Riding, Church of Our Redeemer, Holy Trinity, Christ Our Hope, Faith Anglican, Church of the Resurrection, Sanctuary Anglican, Good Shepherd Anglican, Solid Rock Anglican, and Christ the Rock Anglican. Some of these may be reworked to move the word "Anglican" to an ancillary line, and a tag line might be added to describe our location. WE ARE STILL RECEIVING NAMES! Please share your thoughts with any vestry person, Pastor Becki+, or by email. We want to hear from you!
EVERY TUESDAY EVENING A GROUP MEETS TO PRAY FOR SRCA
our communities, the church, special needs, etc. Please consider joining us. Our church is only as strong as our prayer life. It's time to begin praying in the next round of what God wants to do in and through us! We will be meeting at the church building at 7:15. Please participate in this most important work!
PARENTS: PLEASE REGISTER YOUR CHILDREN FOR SRCA'S FIRST EVER VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
that will be held mornings the week of June 17-21. The theme will be "Colossal Coaster World." Registration forms are on the table in the narthex. Will you DARE to ride with us as we meet to study, play, and laugh together? The team leaders have met several times. We will need your help! YOUNG LIFE / WYLD LIFE
A meeting of parents and those interested in starting a Wyld Life Club (Young Life for middle school students) is scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 7:30 PM at Jay and Cathie Rowzie's home at 42634 Pelican Dr., South Riding VA 20152. HELP WANTED
We are in need of nursery helpers and ushers. Nursery helpers must be at least 16. Ushering is best done in teams of two. Parent – child teams or husbands and wives are encouraged to sign up.
FAMILY CAMP
Our 4th annual Family Camp will be held June 14 – 16, and the cost is a bit less than last year! Our theme will be "Roamin Roman Holiday." Sign up early! You won't want to miss the fun!!
OUR YOUTH MINI MISSION TRIP
will be held August 21-23. Youth in grades 6 and up are invited to participate. Please save the date. More details will be available soon.
