SRCA NEWS AND NOTES

Dear Parish Family,

Please hold Ken and Donna in your prayers and in your hearts. Ken is very weak at tis point, and Donna can use our encouragement and prayers fro strength and for peace, even as we pray for Ken for strength and healing.

As we near the end of Lent, the scripture readings point us directly to the clash between life and death. On this, the 5thSunday of Lent, our reading include Ezekiel 37:1-14, Romans 8:6-11, John 11:1-45, and Psalm 130. We will hear the readings from Ezekiel and John in our worship. Both deal with the power of God to bring life where there is death. Ezekiel experiences a vision where dry bones are returned to life. In John we hear of the actual return to life of a man four days dead and buried.

Many of us have experienced God restoring life to parts of our emotions, minds, and spirits that have been "dead." In the midst of death, God brings life, and he longs to do that in each of us by placing his Spirit, the breath of life, within us, to bring hope and healing, laughter and joy.

I look forward to seeing you in worship Sunday morning. As we plug into the heavenly worship that continues 24/7, I pray that you will draw near to God, and that you will permit him to draw near to you!

Faithfully,

Becki+
