FOR SUNDAY
For over 1500 years humanity held a geocentric view of the universe –the view that put Earth in the center of everything. When Galileo, Copernicus and Kepler espoused a heliocentric model, a model placing the sun at the center of all the action, it was a hard sell. Cries of heresy arose, and the scientific world of the times was thrown into turmoil. Even today 18% of all Americans think the Earth is at the center of the universe.

Each of us creates our own "universe," our own sphere of influence or circle of living, and we would like to set ourselves up as the center of our lives. Our trinity becomes "me, myself, and I." With those words we hopefully realize that this is not a Christian construct, for the Christian Trinity is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is the Christian God who claims to be at the center of all creation – at he center of the universe, not in a metaphysical way, but in a spiritual way. The question for us becomes, "Who or what is at the center of the universe as reflected by our lives?"  The Thunderous thought for Sunday is that we are not the center of the universe!

Sunday's scriptures include Proverbs 25:6-7, Psalm 112, Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16, and Luke 14:1, 7-14.  Plan to come and worship the living God with us!

Faithfully,

Becki+

"When it's all been said and done; there is just one thing that matters. Did I do my best to live for truth, did I live my life for You?"
