Did you know that three of our members are headed to Ghana this summer to run a reading camp for village children? These children learn to read in school, when they can get there, but they have no books or opportunity to read at home. Jackie Coates, Bruce Neumann, and I will travel to Accra in late July.
Sunday we celebrate the 4th Sunday of Lent, meaning we are more than half way through the season. It?s a time to take stock of how we are fairing with our Lenten disciplines. If we have slipped a bit, or forgotten that it?s Lent and time to commit to a bit of sacrifice or discipline, let?s commit to getting back on track. God looks on the heart rather than the outward appearance, but it is important to have our outward actions reflect our heart condition of surrender and obedience to God.
The scripture readings for tomorrow include: 1 Samuel 16:1-13, Ephesians 5:8-14, John 9:1-41, and Psalm 23. We will be using the 1 Samuel and John readings in our worship this morning. Tomorrow's message might be called "Cardiac Care: Heart Exam 101."
I'm so glad you have joined us this morning, as we come before the Lord to worship Him in Spirit and in truth!
Faithfully,
Becki+
