SRCA NEWS AND NOTES

Dear Friends in Christ,

SUNDAY WORSHIP
This coming Sunday we celebrate the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost. Our readings will include 2 Samuel 1:1, 17-27, Psalm 130, 2 Corinthians 8:7-15, and Mark 5:21-43. We will have a guest clergy person, The Reverend Deacon Andy Terry, leading us in worship and preaching. Andy is a Deacon in DOMA (the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic).  As a deacon, Andy will be celebrating a "deacon's mass or Communion under special circumstances" using bread and wine that I have consecrated before leaving on vacation. Please give him a warm welcome!

PRAYERS FOR THE PARISH
Meting Tuesday, 7:15 at the 304. Please come out to pray for our parish! Zita will be hosting this week.

YOUTH MISSION TRIP
Date: July 11-13
Where: New Hope Shelter for the Homeless
open to all youth who have completed grades 5-12. 
Cost is still TBD ($20-$50, depending on lodging)

Important Information

Dear Friends in Christ,

Please plan to join us at Bishop Claggett Center for our Sunday worship this week, June 24th. Worship will begin at 10:00, and will conclude about 11:15. We will then head out to the tree shaded lawn to have a picnic lunch before departing for home. Please bring a drink for your family, and a dish to share. NO NUTS, PLEASE! We should be ready to to depart for home by 12:30 - 1:00. Please plan to join in the fun, even if you are not attending Family Camp. Fellowship with each other is such an important part of church life!

Guests and visitors are welcome!  The street address for your GPS is 3035 Buckeystown Pike, Buckeystown, MD 21717. The drive takes about an hour from South Riding. 

Next Sunday we will return to Little River Elementary for our Sunday worship.

SRCA NEWS AND NOTES

Dear Friends in Christ,

We would love to welcome you this Sunday! We are a lively Christina community who is seeking to live out God's call here in South Riding. 


SUNDAY WORSHIP
This coming Sunday we celebrate the Second Sunday after Pentecost. Our readings will include 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1 and Mark 3:20-35. This Sunday is also a "W.A.T.S." sunday, a day in which instead of hearing a sermon preached, We Are The Sermon. We will be the sermon by demonstrating our love for the children in Ghana by preparing string bags for them. The bags, once completed, will hold the books they receive as a part of the reading camp Pastor Becki, Zita, Jason, Zach, and others, are going to lead this summer. 


WOMEN'S TEA
This Sunday, June 10th at 12:30 all the women of the parish are invited to Eggspectations for a women's tea/lunch. Please let Maryann Branch know if you plan to attend. 

YOUTH GROUP FUN: HERSHEY PARK ON JUNE 15
We need a firm head count for tickets by Sunday, June 10th, along with payment of $35.00 per ticket.  Please talk with Meghan to be included, and give your payment to her. 

FAMILY CAMP
The date is set for our best family camp yet. On June 22-24 I am praying many of you will join the fun at the Bishop Claggett Center, located about an hour from South Riding. Our Theme this year is 
"Trials, Temptations, and Triumphs: 
Warrior. Liar. Hero. Murderer. King." New adult small groups and activities for youth and children will be ready for participants to enjoy! We want every family who wants to come to be included. Do not let finances stand in your way. Just let Pastor Becki know you want to come, and arrangements can be made!

SRCA NEWS AND NOTES

Dear Friends,


Many exciting things are happening in the life of South Riding Church. Come and experience authentic relationship with God and with others who are fellow pilgrims.


SUNDAY WORSHIP
This coming Sunday we celebrate Trinity Sunday. Our readings will include Isaiah 6:1-8Psalm 29Romans 8:12-17, and John 3:1-17We will celebrate the day by acknowledging our children's accomplishments. Additionally, two board members from Ghanaian Mother's Hope will be with us for worship, Debi Lyons, president, and Mercia Laryea, from Ghana. 

WATS
"We Are The Sermon" is happening on Sunday, June 10th. Our sermon will be a hands on opportunity for families of all sizes to do something to make a difference in the life of someone else. Please plan to be with us. Together we can make a difference in the lives of others.

Please talk with Meghan to get your name on the list for the Hershey Park trip. We will leave South Riding at 7:30am and return by 11:30 pm. The trip is open to all youth finishing grades 5-12. Each youth may bring one friend. We need a firm head count for tickets by Sunday, June 10th, along with payment of $35.00 per ticket. We will need a few drivers/chaperones to assist. Please talk with Meghan to volunteer.
