Christ Church Chatter (Formerly SRCA News and Notes)

WELCOME
to our worship on this day when we celebrate the 2ndSunday of Advent, that time of prayerful preparation for Jesus to be born anew in our hearts. Given the pace of our culture, and the pace of this season in particular, the challenge is ever before the faithful to step back a bit and make time for silence, rest, and family relaxation together. I encourage you to make worship on the four Sunday's of Advent a very high priority for your family. And set aside some other time, too, to focus on Jesus.

FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY
Please continue to pick up extra non-perishable food items to be donated to our local food pantries. Food items can be brought each Sunday. The need is ever before us to care for those in need. When we have a "full load" it will be delivered to the Chantilly food pantry.

PRAYERS FOR THE PARISH
will not be held this Tuesday. Please pray for the parish and our presence and impact on our communities "Prayer doesn't prepare us for the battle. Prayer IS the battle."

WOMEN'S OUTING

SPECIAL PRAYER REQUESTS
1. Please pray for Meghan N. for her residency interview next Friday at 8:00. This would truly be a dream come true!
2. Please continue to keep Cate R. and daughter Eliza in your daily prayers. Cate recently had surgery, and continues to recover at home.

CHRISTMAS EVE
worship will begin at 5:00. This service is an ideal time to invite the un-churched or the "de-churched" to come and experience what Christmas is really all about.
